Line Of Duty Season 2 Episode 1

Line of Duty Season 2 Episode 1: The Ambush

Line of Duty is a British police drama series that follows the investigations of AC-12, a unit that specializes in uncovering corruption within the police force. The second season, which premiered on 12 February 2014 on BBC Two, focuses on the case of DI Lindsay Denton (Keeley Hawes), a police officer who is suspected of being involved in a deadly ambush on a witness protection convoy.

The first episode of season 2, titled "The Ambush", begins with a shocking scene: a police convoy escorting a civilian under a witness protection scheme is attacked by masked gunmen, who kill three officers and leave the witness critically injured. The only survivor is Inspector Lindsay Denton, who organized the operation at very short notice and who only informed DCC Dryden (Mark Bonnar) of the route. AC-12, led by Superintendent Ted Hastings (Adrian Dunbar), is assigned to investigate the incident and find out if there was a leak or a mole within the police.

DS Steve Arnott (Martin Compston) and DC Kate Fleming (Vicky McClure) are tasked with interviewing Denton, who claims that she was following orders from Dryden and that she had no idea who the witness was or why he was targeted. However, they soon discover inconsistencies and contradictions in her story, as well as evidence that she may have had personal motives to sabotage the operation. Meanwhile, Denton tries to track down a missing teenager named Carly Kirk (Charlotte Spencer), who may have a connection to the witness and the ambush.

The episode ends with a twist: Denton is abducted from her home by two men, one of whom is revealed to be DS Jayne Akers (Alison Lintott), one of the officers killed in the ambush and Denton's friend. The other man shoots Akers in the head and then tortures Denton, demanding to know where Carly Kirk is. Denton manages to overpower him and stab him in the neck, but not before he tells her that he and Akers were working for Dryden, who set up the ambush.

"The Ambush" is a gripping and suspenseful introduction to the second season of Line of Duty, which explores themes such as loyalty, betrayal, justice and corruption. The episode features stellar performances from the cast, especially Hawes as the complex and ambiguous Denton, who keeps the viewers guessing about her innocence or guilt. The episode also sets up several mysteries and questions that will be answered in the following episodes.

Line of Duty Season 2 Episode 2: Carly

The second episode of season 2, titled "Carly", picks up where the first one left off: Denton is rescued by Arnott from her abductors, who turn out to be DS Manish Prasad (Sacha Dhawan) and DC Jeremy Cole (Henry Pettigrew), two corrupt officers working for Dryden. However, before they can escape, Cole shoots Arnott in the hand and Prasad kills Cole. Denton stabs Prasad in self-defense and calls for help. Arnott is taken to the hospital, where he is visited by Fleming, who reveals that she has been planted undercover in Denton's Missing Persons Unit by Hastings.

Meanwhile, Hastings and Cottan interrogate Prasad, who claims that he and Cole were hired by Denton to kill the witness and Akers. He also says that Denton attacked her neighbour Jo Dwyer (Liz White) after she saw her leaving with a suitcase on the night of the ambush. However, Denton denies all these allegations and accuses Dryden of being behind the conspiracy. She also reveals that she knows about Fleming's affair with Akers' husband and that she has evidence of Dryden's involvement with Carly Kirk (Charlotte Spencer), a missing teenager who may have a link to the witness.

Fleming and Denton continue to search for Carly Kirk, but Denton soon realizes that Fleming is spying on her and tries to expose her. Fleming manages to convince Hastings to let her stay undercover and tries to gain Denton's trust. She also discovers that a nurse on the witness's ward
